Rules and Regulations regarding the Annual System of Teaching and Examinations
- The minimum duration for the degree program shall not be less than four (4) academic years
- The maximum duration of the degree program shall not exceed than seven (7) academic years.
- The medium of instructions and examinations shall be English for all subjects except Islamic studies/Ethics and Pakistan Studies for which the medium of instructions shall be either Urdu or English.
- Each Subject/course shall consist of,
Part-I (class Performance + Theory)
or Part-II (Sessional Work and Practical & Viva/Voce)
or both
Each part shall consist of two components as under:

All four Components of both Part-I and Part-II shall be considered as separate paper for the purpose of examination.
- In order to pass the subject, a candidate shall have to obtain the following percentage marks in each component of Part-I and Part-II separately.

- The class performance may consist of home work/assignments, quizzes, presentations, mini projects/reports, class participation etc. decided by the teacher/internal examiner in consultation with the Head of Department/ Principal.
If a candidate fails in the class performance of a subject, and intended to clear it, he may be permitted on the written application submitted within twenty days of the declaration of the result, on the recommendation of the teacher concerned with the prior approval of the Head of Department and the Principal.
Marks awarded for the improved class performance shall not exceed 40% the total marks assigned to that Class performance.
- Sessional work may consist of homework/ assignments, lab work, designs, quizzes, presentations, oral examination and any other assignment as determined by the teacher/internal examiner in consultation with the Head of Department/ Principal.
If a candidate fails in the Sessional work of a subject, and intend to clear it, he may be permitted on the written application submitted within twenty days of the declaration of the result by the office of Controller of Examinations, on the recommendation of the teacher concerned with the prior approval and guideline of the Head of Department and the Principal
Marks awarded for the improved Sessional work shall not exceed 50% the total marks assigned to that Sessional work.
- The Practical and Viva voce examination shall be conducted jointly by the Internal and External Examiners appointed by the Vice Chancellor according to the guidelines of Pakistan Engineering Council.
- Attendance Requirements, No candidate shall be admitted to an examination if he attended less than 75% of the total number of lectures delivered both in Part-I and Part-II separately, provided that the dean of faculty concerned may, for valid reasons, condone to the extent of 10% a deficiency in the percentage of 75.
- Honors Degree, A Candidate who fulfills all the requirement of the degree shall be declare to have passed with honors, if he obtained in aggregate 75% or more of the marks in the entire degree program, provided he has never failed in any component of Part-I or Part-II of any subject of the entire degree program, and passed within the minimum duration of the degree program.
- A candidate who fulfills all the requirement for the degree shall be eligible to get GOLD MEDAL if he attains first position in the order of merit based upon the aggregate marks obtained in the entire degree program, provided he has never failed in any component of Part-I or Part-II of any subject of the entire degree program, and passed within the minimum duration of the degree program.

The marks obtained by a candidate in different examinations shall be weighted to determine the division as follows:-
- 40% of the combined result of First & Second Year examinations.
- 60% of combined result of Third & Final year examinations.
- If a student remains absent without any prior approval y the HOD and the Principal in all subjects continuously for more than two weeks, his name will be struck off from the rolls of the university.
- No candidate shall be allowed to appear in the final year examination that carries more than TEN (10) subjects of lower classes other than first year.
- If a student fails to pass in more than 50% components of Part-I and Part-II separately as a result of I-Annual and II-Annual examination of the first year combined, he will not be promoted to higher classes, however, he will have a chance to make-up this deficiency by re-admission in the next entry.
The re-admission will only be offered once.
